---- — OTTUMWA — Dorothy “Dot” L. Fuller, 98, formerly of 501 Wabash Ave., died at 4:10 a.m. Sept. 3, 2013, at The Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.
She was born March 29, 1915, in Ottumwa. Dorothy married Cleo “Bud” Fuller on July 14, 1934. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2006.
She had worked at Ruth Tasteys on Market Street while her husband was in World War II. Dorothy then moved to San Diego, Calif., with her son while her husband was stationed in California. In 1946, they returned to Ottumwa, and in 1948 they moved to 501 Wabash Ave.; here she lived for 62 years.
Dorothy was a member of Good Sams and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with her husband. She also enjoyed square dancing.
Surviving are her son, Buddy Gene (Patty) Fuller of Powder Horn, Colo.; five grandchildren, Rick (Teri) Colton of Marion, Nick (Elise) Fuller of Colorado Springs, Colo., Chris Hulke of Eden Prairie, Minn., Daryll (Tina) Colton of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Terri (Ron) Baird of Fairfield; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Janice (Jerry) Meiers of Ottumwa and Janet Hittle of California; nephew, Ronald (Chris) Carr of Chariton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Grace Carr; a brother, Robert Hittle and two stepbrothers, Buster and Harry Carr.
Her body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Brooks officiating.
Visitation with the family present will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa Activity Fund.
