BLOOMFIELD — Ruby Pauletta Goodson, 94, of Bloomfield, died Sept. 10, 2013, at Davis County Hospital Long Term Care.
She was born Dec. 31, 1918, in Appanoose County to Paul David and Flola Spurgeon Howell. She married Lyman Eugene Goodson. He preceded her in death in 1999. Pauletta was a homemaker and taught in rural Davis County schools. She was a member of the Mark Baptist Church and was a 4-H Leader.
She is survived by two sons, Philip Goodson and Doug Goodson, both of Bloomfield; three daughters, Jeanetta Helmick of Bloomfield, Teresa Starr of Mt. Vernon and Christine Swift of Jacksonville, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold and David Howell; two sisters, Evelyn and Nadine; and a stepsister, Kay.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Geneva Garrison; husband; daughter, Nanette Goodson; two brothers, DeVere and Cloyd Howell; and a stepsister, Joyce Elaine Howell.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Mark Baptist Church in Davis County; Pastor Gary Axtell officiating. Burial will be at the Bethel Cemetery in Davis County.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the church.
A memorial has been established to the Mark Baptist Church.
