OTTUMWA — Randy Dale Gatlin, 50, of 126 Skyline Drive, died at 11:25 p.m. September 16, 2013, at his home after a courageous battle with primary sclerosing cholangitis.
He was born April 8, 1963, in Ottumwa to George and Betty Ripley Gatlin. He married Kimberly Woollums on August 10, 1985.
Randy was a 1981 graduate of Ottumwa High School and had worked at Everco before retiring due to his health.
He enjoyed coaching his daughter’s softball team, bowling and NASCAR.
Surviving are his wife, Kim; his daughter, Kayla Gatlin at home; his son, Ryan (Emily) Gatlin at home; a grandson, Ryder; his parents, George and Betty Gatlin of Ottumwa; two brothers, Steven (Jerilyn) Gatlin of Ottumwa, Mike (Brenda) Gatlin of New London; two sisters, Cindy (Nick) Grooms of Ottumwa, Cheryl (Greg) Frost of Mercer, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
