---- — I read the letter to the editor from the president of the League of Women Voters of Ottumwa who said “they try to stay out of politics.” She’s inferring that the League is nonpartisan. I’m old enough to remember the days when they indeed were. I’m also old enough to remember when Elvis Presley was the the No. 1-selling musical artist. Today, Elvis is dead, and the League of Women Voters is firmly placed in the hip pocket of the leftist Democrat Party.
The letter writer goes on to claim that voter ID laws are based entirely on racial motives and that evil folks like me are racists and against all poor folks of color voting in elections. She uses race-baiting as a veil to protect the voter fraud now perpetuated by the Democrat Party.
The “race card” came into full play after Obama’s election. It was the only thing they could use against those who successfully argue against Obama’s horrid ideologies; i.e., If you’re against Obama, it’s simply because he’s black. This only mode of defense has gotten old, and, quite frankly, is stupid. Using this same premise, one could easily infer that I’m an extremist anti-white racist because I hate everything associated with Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin, two of the world’s most infamous WHITE leaders.
In today’s America, no one can step out of their door without being asked to show a picture ID to pursue almost any frivolous endeavor. If one chooses to do something as important as voting, asking to prove your identity and proof of citizenship is a no-brainer. Only those with the criminal intent of voter fraud would protest.
I attended the last Republican Straw Poll held in Ames. It’s a meaningless event with no real consequences. I personally witnessed a WHITE man being denied a ballot for voting by a WHITE female official because his driver’s license or picture ID had expired. I also found it quite humorous to learn that Obama required a picture ID before anyone could enter one of his many fundraising events.
The Democrat Party, along with the help of Obama and the attorney general, has honed voter fraud into a fine art. They sponsor, finance and promote it, along with groups like the League of Women Voters.
