Albia girls win Redette Invite

---- — CENTERVILLE — The Albia Lady Dees broke a team record with a score of 369 on the way to a victory at the Centerville Redette Invitational Tuesday night at Manhattan in Centerville.

Cassie Crall carded 85 to earn meet medalist honors and lead the Albia charge, while Anna Riley carded 94, Emily Scala 95 and Lexie Van Polen 95 for the balanced Lady Dees.

“Obviously the girls are thrilled, so I am thrilled,” said Albia coach Mike Duea. “It is such a fun group, so we enjoy the work of golf which really allows us a few days to enjoy a record-breaking performance like today before we get back to the next obstacle and the next set of goals.”

Centerville, led by Maddison Lange’s runner-up score of 87, was 17 shots back at 386, while Chariton posted a team round of 424, Davis County 452 and Moravia 485.

Miranda Davis led Chariton with a 96, Skylar Yahnke led Davis County with a 103 and Shaye Brewer carded 93 to lead Moravia.

Albia is scheduled to take on Moravia in a dual Friday at The Preserve. Davis County will host Fairfield and Keokuk on Thursday. Moravia is at Lamoni Thursday. Chariton is at the Winterset Invitational on Saturday.
