Ottumwa man arrested on meth, weapons charges

OTTUMWA — A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of an Ottumwa man Thursday night.

During a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 6000 block of Cliffland Road around 11:38 p.m. Thursday, a Wapello County Sheriff deputy arrested Lorenzo Gabriel Langarcia, 19, of Ottumwa.

Langarcia was a passenger in the vehicle. He was charged with possession with the intent to deliver five grams or more of methamphetamine, a Class B felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with carrying weapons and fourth-degree theft after he was arrested and searched. Deputies found a loaded and stolen semi-automatic pistol on Langarcia’s person. The pistol had been reported stolen to the Ottumwa Police Department on Oct. 10.

Langarcia is being held in the Wapello County Jail on $100,000 bond.
