OTTUMWA — The alleged murderer of the Cinema X manager is scheduled to go on trial in July.
At a hearing on Monday, Bruce Darnell Pollard’s trial date was rescheduled to begin on July 16.
Pollard, 26, was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery two months after the body of Kenneth McDaniel was discovered inside the front door of the Cinema X theater on March 13, 2012.
Pollard has also been charged in an armed robbery of the Sonic drive-in restaurant on March 12, 2012, as well as the armed robbery at the Jefferson Street BP convenience store on March 15, 2012.
The court ordered that the trials regarding the two armed robberies “may be held beyond the one-year deadline.”
