OTTUMWA — A father and son have been charged with two drug violations each following a search of their residence in Ottumwa.
On Tuesday morning, officers from the Ottumwa Police Department’s Emergency Response Team, Iowa Department of Public Safety Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Ottumwa Police Department, Oskaloosa Police Department and the Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 539 Ottumwa St.
As a result of the search, officers seized items consistent with the distribution of controlled substances and arrested and charged Phillip Wayne Cave Sr., 60, and his son, Phillip Anthony Cave Jr., 30, with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, both Class D felonies.
Phillip Cave Jr. was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for his arrest for parole violation and is being held in the Wapello County Jail without bond. His father bonded out of jail.
