Less than a month earlier, he was charged with second-degree burglary after allegedly taking money from Appanoose Rapids Brewing Company's cash register on Feb. 15, 2012. According to court documents, Pollard "admitted to police that he committed the crime." At Monday's pre-trial conference, this was also ordered to be kept with the BP armed robbery charge.
A pre-trial conference on this charge will be held Oct. 14 and the trial is set to begin on Nov. 5.
Pollard was also charged with assault on persons engaged in certain occupations on Nov. 17, 2011, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. According to witness statements, Pollard allegedly kicked a female paramedic in the stomach and was "cursing and yelling obscenities in the common area of the hospital." A pre-trial conference for this charge will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 28.
Earlier this year, Pollard was charged with second-degree criminal mischief while he was being held in Wapello County Jail. According to court documents, Pollard allegedly struck a jail cell on Feb. 12, causing the window to break. Jail staff said the incident was captured on security video.
A pre-trial conference for this charge will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 21.
Pollard is currently serving a life sentence at the Iowa Medical Classification Center (commonly known as Oakdale prison) in Coralville.
