OTTUMWA — Ottumwa police say one person is in custody after a teenager was stabbed over the weekend.
Officers responded to 209 W. Fifth Street shortly after midnight Sunday on a report of a stabbing. A 16-year-old male had been stabbed once in the abdomen. He was transported to Ottumwa Regional Health Center for treatment.
Stephyne Reneae Stewart, 25, 2110 E. Main Street was charged with willful injury, a Class D felony. She remains in the Wapello County Jail on $5,000 bond.
In a separate case, Amevi Nsougan, 30, 508 N. Ash St., Ottumwa, was charged with domestic abuse assault and willful injury. Police say he was the aggressor in a stabbing Friday.
Kokou Tounou, 33, who shares a residence with Nsougan, was airlifted to Iowa City for treatment after he suffered two stab wounds to his torso.
In this case, the willful injury charge is a Class C felony. Nsougan is being held in the Wapello County Jail on $12,000 cash only bond.
