OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa Community Church, 305 S. Walnut Ave., will host Kingdom Tales Vacation Bible School for children in kindergarten through sixth grade from 6-8 p.m. July 14-18.

Communion planned at St. Paul

OTTUMWA — St. Paul Church, 1524 North Court, Ottumwa, will celebrate Holy Communion Sunday as part of the regular worship service at 9 a.m.

St. Paul Church has an open communion table, welcoming all visitors and guests to receive the bread and wine as the real presence of Jesus Christ’ body and blood.

Pastor Ron Barnett will be speaking from the tenth chapter of the Gospel of Luke: “The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few.”

Following worship, there will be a time of refreshments and fellowship in the lower level of the church.

Eldon church hosts ‘Supper in the Park’

ELDON — The Eldon United Methodist Church will be hosting “Supper in the Park” in downtown Eldon at the “Rock” at 5 p.m. July 12.

Fried chicken, salads, cowboy beans, bars and pies will be served for a freewill offering.

Heartland Assembly marks five years

OTTUMWA — The Heartland Assembly of God, 420 E. Main St., Ottumwa will be celebrating its five-year anniversary July 12-14. Pastor Jim Olson and the congregation invite the community to the three-day event.

Christopher Olson will be the guest speaker at 7 p.m. July 12. Olson is a 1990 graduate of Ottumwa High School and is currently the worship leader and associate pastor of the Heartland Assembly of God in Ankeny.

Dave Olson will speak at 6 p.m. July 13. He is a 1983 graduate of Cardinal High School and is currently senior pastor at the Heartland Assembly of God in Ankeny.

The Rev. Paul Tucker will be the guest speaker at 10 a.m. July 14. Tucker is originally from the Batavia/Fairfield area and now travels throughout France, Africa, Mexico and South America mentoring pastors around the world.
