AREA BASEBALL ACTION: Flahive’s bat propels Albia
CHARITON — The Albia baseball team was busy Thursday.
The Blue Demons took an 11-9 win at Chariton Thursday afternoon, then travelled over to Osceola to take on Clarke in a doubleheader Thursday night. Results of the twinbill at Clarke weren’t available as the Courier went to press Thursday night, but Aaron Flahive carried the big bat for Albia in the Chariton game.
Flahive belted a home run and three doubles and ended up with four RBI in support of pitcher Riley Waters, who picked up his seventh win of the season in just over five innings of work.
Brett Frieden, Adam Stephens, Nate Graham and Wes Clouse also laced doubles for the Blue Demons, who improved to 13-4 in the South Central Conference with the win, 24-9 overall. Frieden ended up with three RBI while Clouse added two and Stephens had one.
