PELLA — The Ottumwa Barracuda swim team took one last dip in the pool for the summer at Pella on July 7.

Hank Hammer won the 50 freestyle in 41.94 in the boys eight-and-under division. He also placed first in the 25-meter butterfly (23.14). Hammer was a runner-up finisher in the 100 individual medley (1:54.26).

Caroline Owens finished runner-up in the girls 13-14 50 freestyle in 34.21. Jill Ardueser was second in the 100 freestyle (1:35.74).

Sophie Goodman placed third in the 100 IM. Caroline Carlson finished third in the 50 breaststroke and Claire Carlson placed fourth in the same event.

Joseph Hammer wound up fourth in the 25 freestyle.

The Ottumwa 200-meter medley team of Katie Zingg, Caroline Owens, Ardueser and Danielle Noe took first place in the 13-14 age division with a time of 3:15.81.

The Barracudas are coached by Heidi Owens, Mike McWilliams, Hannah Owens and Meredith Owens.
