FORT DODGE — The 12th-ranked Indian Hills volleyball team swept Iowa Central in Fort Dodge on Thursday by scores of 28-26, 25-13 and 25-16.

The Warriors bounced back after a five-game loss to Marshalltown Community College on Wednesday and five matches lost at the Salt Lake CC Tournament last weekend.

Warrior sophomore Ana Maira Charun, from Lima, Peru, led head coach Tori Fowler-Sorenson’s squad in kills with 15. Fellow soph and former Ottumwa standout Karie Downing was next in the department with six kills. Downing also was 15-15 serving with two aces.

Caitlin Davis — another Ottumwa High School standout grad — went 13-13 serving with five aces.

Natalia Olivera led IHCC in assists with 33.

Indian Hills (5-11) hosts Kirkwood CC at the Tom Arnold Net Center in Ottumwa this Tuesday.
