Warrior golfers earn first place



OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The sixth-ranked Indian Hills Warrior golf team finished in first place at the Iowa/Kansas Clash on Tuesday.

The Warriors finished with a total team score of 591, an impressive 20 strokes ahead of second place Dodge City Community College’s 611.

After shooting a 300 as a team in the opening round Monday night, the Warriors improved their score Tuesday in round two, shooting a 291.

The Warriors were led by medalists Dan Dawson and Cameron Munro, who each shot 146s.

Justin Weber (149), Zach Monson (150) and Kurt Slattery (156) also helped lift the Warriors past other highly touted golf teams, including 11th-ranked Iowa Western.

The Warriors also brought along three other area golfers. Matt Solis (147), Mike Slavin (150), and Sean Kennedy (154) rounded out the Warriors’ scoring.

The Iowa-Kansas Clash was the last scheduled meet for the Warriors golf team.
