---- — INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Sam Young kept Kearney LL off the board during his seven innings of work and Urbandale LL beat Kearney LL 4-3 in 11 innings to advance to the Midwest Regional finals on Wednesday.

Sam Young struck out eight and allowed no walks and five hits. Urbandale, which had to rally to beat Appanoose County in the Iowa State Little League championship game to get to the regional tourney, will play Minnesota state champ Coon Rapids Friday at noon for the right to play in the Little League World Series.

A walk-off single by Carter Troncin gave Urbandale the win. Troncin racked up two RBI on two hits, singling in the fourth and eleventh innings.

Kearney jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the third. A single by Karson Huryta, bringing home Seth Stroh started the inning off. The Nebraska champs added more runs when Schmidt scored on a walk by Keegan Thurston and Huryta scored on an error.

The win avenged the only loss for the Iowa champs in the midwest regional so far. Kearney won in pool play action over Urbandale, winning 6-4 by plating two fifth-inning runs to avoid going to extra innings when the two teams met at Stokley Field on Sunday.

Urbandale got to the Midwest Regional Tournament by overcoming a late 2-1 deficit against Appanoose County 11 days ago to win the state championship game in Boone. Urbandale also won the second contest with the squad from Centerville after losing earlier in the state tournament to Appanoose County.
