Records: Ottumwa is 1-6, while the Scarlets are 6-1.

Megan Black leads the way: Black spearheaded Ottumwa's offense with a team-high 12 points and four blocks in a 51-41 loss to Indianola on the cusp of Christmas Break.

Stopping Marble and Cobler: The Bulldogs will have clamp down on Roichelle Marble and Renise Collier, the Scarlets two leading scorers. Marble averages about points per game and Collier averages about 13 a game.

Coach Kevin Patterson says: "The No. 1 thing you've got to do is protect the ball. No 2., you have to prevent them from getting layups in transition. You can't let them have any easy pass baskets. "

The Brok Hopwood effect: Hopwood drilled seven 3-pointers on his way to scoring a career-high 25 points in Ottumwa's 69-66 win over Indianola.

Carter Burns as the go-to guy: Burns continues to be Ottumwa's most consistent offensive performer. His clutch play late in the fourth quarter played a key role in Ottumwa's win over the Indians.

Coach Kevin Kanaskie says: "I think we need to rebound the ball better and guard a little better. We've had good practices over the break and I hope we can continue to do what we've done in practice in the game."
