Doughty's no-hitter highlights IHCC's Sunday split

SEMINOLE, OK. — A day of two very different games against two very different teams ended with a major early-season boost for the Indian Hills baseball team.

Sophomore pitcher Aaron Doughty tossed a five-inning no-hitter to help Indian Hills earn a split against a pair of Oklahoma schools on Sunday. Doughty allowed just two walks and struck out six batters in an 11-0, five-inning win over Carl Albert following an 18-1 loss to Seminole State.

Falcon batters gave Doughty plenty of offense to work with, smacking six extra-base hits against Carl Albert. Freshman first baseman Mitch Langer had the top day among the IHCC hitters in Sunday’s nightcap, smacking a pair of home runs while driving in three runs and scoring three more.

Former Ottumwa star Kyle Keck came up with three RBI and a pair of runs scored on two hits against Carl Albert while Junior Santos drove in one run and scored one more on a pair of doubles. Santos also had one of IHCC’s two hits in the loss to Seminole State, driving in a run with a double.

IHCC salvaged a split at Eastern Oklahoma State on Friday, winning the nightcap 6-5 thanks to a two-run pinch hit single by Ben Rezcinek. Former Centerville pitcher Jose Marin came on in the bottom of the sixth to get the final four outs to save the victory.

Indian Hills (7-5) continues a week of action on the road at McLennan today starting at 2 p.m.
