---- — CEDAR FALLS — Waukon's Marcus Weymiller galloped into Albia territory after catching a little flip pass from quarterback Parker Hesse in the second quarter. The Indians slowly advanced the ball further down field in a businesslike manner with a couple of runs by Hesse. Then, Weymiller managed to evade would be-tackler Brett Leshen and run for a 6-yard touchdown to give the Indians a 13-7 lead. Blake Bayer, however, blocked the extra point attempt to keep the deficit at 6.
Albia answered with its best offensive series of the night. First, Matt Baker burst up the middle for a first down. Then Brett Leshen found Baker with a long over-the-head pass in Indian territory. Later in the drive, Leshen fired a 19-yard completion to Zach Hugen. Alex Schultz capped off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run with 25 seconds left in the half. An extra point by Justin Bossard gave the Blue Demons a 14-13 lead. They carried that lead into halftime.
