No. 5 (1A) Wilton shuts out Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont

WILTON — Fifth-ranked Wilton used big offensive plays, defensive plays and special teams plays to pick up a 44-0 shutout in Class 1A, District 6 action over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Koy Snider scored three times for the Beavers, who came up with six Rocket turnovers in the victory including one that came immediately after the Rockets’ Jeren Glosser recovered one on the very first play of the game.

After forcing the first of the six turnovers just two plays after Glosser’s recovered fumble, the Beavers scored on Eric Gray’s one-yard touchdown run. EBF then threatened to match Wilton’s touchdown, driving to the eight-yard line before a pass by quarterback Dillon Pigsley was returned 103 yards by Tyler Hetzler for a game-changing pick six.
