---- — MARION — The seventh-ranked Indian Hills golf team dominated the 2013 Kirkwood Eagles Classic Sunday and Monday, taking home first place honors by 24 strokes.

The top of the leaderboard was swimming with Warrior linksters. Harrison Moore snared first place with a score of 143 and Jakob Garstecki came in second with 145. Indian Hills tied for third with Sam Sloman, who was playing as an individual — each Warrior carded a 146. In addition, Josh Smith finished seventh with a 147 and Luke Monson notched 10th with a 150.

"Today, the 289 was very good," Indian Hills coach Mike Hagen said. "The wind really blew, which made the back nine pretty tough.

"We needed to get that first win out of the way before we host our tournament and go into the National Preview Championship this weekend. We need to start learning how to win together."

Kirkwood took second with 601 and Iowa Central grabbed third with 627.

The Warriors put on the Community First Credit Union Fall Shootout Saturday at the Ottumwa Country Club.
