Osky girls finish second at Panther Relays

PELLA — The Oskaloosa girls track and field team picked up six wins and 183 points to finish second in the team race at Saturday's Knoxville "Panther" Relays. Pella edged out the Indians for the team title, scoring 192 points in the meet.

Taylor Richardson picked up three wins, breaking a 26-year school record with a leap of 18 feet to win the long jump title while also setting a personal-best time of 1:07.21 to win the 400 hurdles. Richardson joined Asia Ladermilch, who won the 100-meter dash in 13.84 seconds, Cara Roquet and Brey Hill to win the 4x100 relay for the Indians in a time of 51.83.

Bailey Blythe also earned a pair of individual wins for Osky. Blythe won the 1500 meters in a time of 5:13.09 and the 3000 meters in 11:21.08.

Oskaloosa will next run tonight at the Fairfield Relays.

EBF boys get season off to winning start

KEOSAUQUA — The Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont boys track and field team picked up an impressive early-season win on Thursday, scoring 165 points to edge Keokuk for the team title at the Van Buren Invitational.

The Rockets picked up wins in eight different events on Thursday. Lewie Winkleman swept the shot put and discus titles while Blake Marolf earned wins in the 110-high hurdles and as part of EBF's winning shuttle hurdle relay team with Cody Brown, Andrew Hart and Bret Wursta.

Peyton Walker beat out EBF teammate Nathaniel Bay to win the 3200-meter run while Jack Hastings swept the 800 and 1600 meter runs. Cory Archer scored the victory in the 100 meter dash for the Rockets.

EBF will compete tonight in Bloomfield at Davis County's Dennis Anderson Relays.
