Sabers continue mowing Bluegrass

---- — MELCHER – Third-ranked (1A) Twin Cedars continued its dominance of the Bluegrass Conference on Thursday, stepping back onto the field three days after beating one of the best programs in the 1A to pick up a fourth-straight conference victory. The Sabers used a six-run fourth-inning to pull away for an 11-1 win in five innings at Melcher-Dallas in the follow-up to an impressive 5-4 victory over Martensdale-St. Mary’s on Monday.

Junior Hunter Embray had the biggest blow of the game for the Sabers, crushing a homer while driving in four runs for head coach Matt Miller’s squad. Otis Roby had three hits, including a double and scored three runs while Drew Carlson earned the win on the hill, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out eight batters.

No. 3 (1A) Twin Cedars (12-1, 4-0) is back in Bluegrass action Tuesday at Mormon Trial.
