Van Buren beats Holy Trinity

KEOSAUQUA – The Van Buren golf teams both picked up dual wins over Holy Trinity on Monday on their home course. The Warrior girls won by 24 shots with a team score of 222 to the Crusaders of 246 while the Van Buren boys 184 total beat out Holy Trinity by 10.

Payten Hughes, Lydia Heald and Meredith Miller won going away for the Warrior girls as the top three individual scores with Hughes’ round of 45 leading the charge. Noah Whitten, meanwhile, beat out teammate Brandon Plecker by three shots for the best score in the boys dual.

The Van Buren golfers are back on the course, weather permitting, today at home against Fairfield Maharishi at 4 p.m.
