MSAE netters take down I.C. West

---- — FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Maharishi boys tennis team scored an impressive win over the defending 2A state champions who played without some of their top stars on Tuesday. The Pioneers, a 1A state title hopeful, knocked off Iowa City West 6-3 in a battle of elite programs.

Sam Strickels gained a 6-0, 6-2 win in the top singles match over Ben Dellos before joining Raffi Gelfand for a thrilling win in a third-set 10-8 tiebreaker to put the match away for the 2-0 Pioneers in the top doubles matchup.
