Osky sets up 3A, District 8 showdown with win at Winterset

WINTERSET — Andrew Landgrebe rushed 30 more times, adding another 198 yards to the top individual rushing yardage total in Class 3A on Friday night. Landgrebe, now at 1,365 total rush yards for the season, also padded his 3A-leading rushing touchdown total to 21 with three more scores as red-hot Oskaloosa set up a showdown on its home turf for the District 8 title with third-ranked Pella next week after outscoring Winterset 56-37.

The victory moved the Indians to 5-2 overall and 4-0 in district play. Osky will put its five-game winning streak on the line next Friday against third-ranked Pella (7-0, 4-0). The Little Dutch beat Norwalk Friday 30-10.

Landgrebe and Osky quarterback Jesse Van Dalen both had touchdown runs in the first quarter to put the Indians ahead 14-0. Riley Coniglio had a team-high 11 tackles and recovered two Winterset fumbles, including one that the junior returned 68 yards for a touchdown to put the Indians up 21-3. The two teams exchanged the next 10 touchdowns over the final three quarters as Winterset (3-4, 2-3) never got closer than 11 points the rest of the contest.
