---- — NEW LONDON — The Cardinal baseball team defeated New London 4-2 in Southeast Iowa Superconference South action Tuesday.
The Big Reds' Cody Streeby went 2-4 at the plate with a double and Conner McElderry went 2-2. Brennon Elder was the winning pitcher in the game. He allowed two runs on two hits in six innings while striking out an impressive 10 batters.
“We played well enough to win tonight,” Cardinal coach Thomas Hallgren said. “It was kind of a boring game. Brennon worked the strike zone well early, and just got a little tired at the end.”
