Demons stifle Ottumwa Saturday

OTTUMWA — The Washington girls basketball team outscored the Ottumwa Bulldogs 20-6 through the second and third quarters on the way to a 41-22 victory at Washington on Saturday.

Ottumwa (0-2) will host Ankeny on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs trailed just 10-8 after one quarter, but a 15-6 run in the second stanza put Washington up double digits. The Demons the held Ottumwa scoreless in the thid quarter.

Megan Black led Ottumwa in scoring with nine points while Olivia Roark added seven. Devin Leffler grabbed six rebounds for Ottumwa while Black and Hayli Beeson each pulled in five boards.

Washington (2-0) took a 49-37 win over E-B-F last Monday. The Demons will travel to Mid-Prairie on Tuesday.
