MOULTON — Natalie Potter scored a career-high 38 points, but too many turnovers haunted the Moulton-Udell girls basketball team Tuesday in a 67-58 loss to Schuyler County (Mo.) to close the regular season.

“Natalie is shooting the ball well and the kids are doing a great job of finding her,” said Moulton-Udell coach Jason Ogden. “We just have to fix our turnover problem.”

The Eagles (4-15) turned the ball over 35 times, as a high turnover rate has negated some solid play for Moulton-Udell in their last three games.

“We’ve had our chances against good Moravia and Eddyville teams, but didn’t turned the ball over too many times,” said Ogden.

It was the seventh straight game with 20 or more points for Potter, who also cleared 11 rebounds and had five steals in the contest, while Jessica Scott grabbed 13 rebounds and dished three assists. Toni Clark added nine points for Moulton-Udell.

The Eagles will look to take better care of the basketball when they open regionals on Thursday at Twin Cedars.

“If we can get turnovers solved, we have a chance to pull out a win in regionals,” said Ogden.
