The No. 15th ranked Oskaloosa Volleyball team’s season came to an end Tuesday with a 3-1 loss to sixth ranked Solon in the region 5, Class 4A finals.
The Indians fell to the Spartans 25-11, 23-25, 25-11, 25-18. Kate Hasselman shepherded the Indians offense with 10 kills and Taylor Crawford added six kills and was 17-17 on serves, including one ace. Shawni Wills and Kailyn Risher contributed four kills each.
Allie Christenson distributed 24 assists and Kena Veldhuizen paced Oskaloosa defensively with 14 digs. In addition, Christenson had seven digs and Hasselman had five. Hunter Shaull was a major presence at the net, finishing with four of the Indians eight blocks.
Oskaloosa ended its season with a 19-17 record and a Little Hawkeye Championship.
“The Oskaloosa volleyball team and coaching staff would like to thank everyone for their support this season, especially the fans that made the trip to Victor,” head coach Jennifer Comfort said, “We also want to thank the seniors (Christenson, Ashley Bennett, Crawford, Hasselman, Kylie Hill, Emily Peters, Joslyn Schaffner, Veldhuizen and Wills) for all they. We wish them all the best.”
