Osky boys linksters 7th at West Marshall Invite

STATE CENTER — On a day filled with a lot of close competition, the Oskaloosa boys golf team was right in the mix. The Indians finished battling four different teams for fourth place on Monday at the West Marshall Invitational, settling for seventh place after losing a tiebreaker for sixth with Norwalk as the Indians joined the Warriors with a team total of 341.

“I don’t think the temperature ever got over 40 degrees and the wind chill had to be around freezing,” Oskaloosa head boys golf coach Bret Foster said. “We had sleet to start the round and a handful of flurries at some point during the round, so the boys did a pretty good job of grinding through the round.”

Oskaloosa hosts Grinnell and Pella today at 4:15 p.m.
