Albia girls tennis beats Centerville, Chariton

CENTERVILLE — Coming off prom weekend, the Albia girls tennis team had more reasons to celebrate Monday and Tuesday with a pair of South Central Conference wins. The Lady Dees followed an 8-1 win at Chariton with a 6-3 triumph at Centerville, sweeping all three doubles matches to put away their third conference win in four duals.

“I was really happy coming off prom weekend to that kind of focus from our team,” Albia head girls tennis coach Mark Scholes said. “You never know what’s going to happen coming off of that. I’m really happy across with the entire lineup.”

Albia (3-2, 3-1) is now off until returning to the courts next week at Fairfield on Monday.
