No. 15 (2A) EBF downs Davis County in SCC softball

EDDYVILLE — Bethany Reinhard and Rachel Maloy each came up with a pair of hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in all five runs over a two-inning stretch as No. 15 (2A) Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont held off Davis County in South Central Conference softball action Thursday night.

Reinhard’s second hit of the night, a two-RBI double, broke a 3-3 tie in the third inning after Davis County rallied from a 3-0 deficit. Cami Guiter’s two-RBI double followed a Macy Grooms run-scoring single to bring the Mustangs back into an battle with the Rockets in the top of the third inning.

“Both Bethany and Rachel hit the ball well for us,” EBF head softball coach Tony Fenton said. “They came up with huge hits for us with people on base.”

No. 15 (2A) EBF (18-5, 5-2) hosts their home classic tournament while Davis County (11-13, 2-4) heads to the West Liberty Tournament today.
