Happy Mother's Day

Hello race fans and welcome to The Pit Stop.

First of all, I want to send out Happy Mother’s Day wishes to all of the mothers, grandmothers and everyone else that falls into that category. Don’t forget to thank those moms for everything they do.

The Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa kicks the week of racing off tomorrow night where the night of racing is being sponsored by Van Wal Equipment, Bank Iowa and Vital Men. They've had a couple of Wednesday night rain outs in a row, so the sponsors are being bunched up for tomorrow night. All of their weekly divisions of cars are on the card of racing and the IMCA Late Models come to town for night number one of the season.

Eddyville Raceway Park starts their two days of racing on Friday night with a fun night of open test and tune action followed by the first night of Midnight Madness racing from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.. Saturday action will see a non-points bracket race.

The Bloomfield Speedway has Mountain Dew Mother’s Day racing scheduled for Saturday night after they were forced to cancel the races last week due to the continued rainfall. All four weekly classes of racing will be on the card for action. It is also their first night of track points for those classes. The Hobby Stocks will be racing for a $400 top prize, so there will probably be some out-of-town racers in attendance to try to take home the high-dollar payout.

The Knoxville Raceway has Bryant Iowa Heating and Cooling night Saturday night. The 305 Sprint Cars and Dirt Trucks have been added to the card of racing along with the 360 and 410 Sprint Cars.

The Figure 8 racers will take to the track at the Keokuk County Fairgrounds in What Cheer Saturday night. It will be the first race of 2014 at the track.
