---- — OTTUMWA — A center who is currently getting some valuable experience playing for his county’s national team has signed a letter of intent with Indian Hills Community College. IHCC coach Barret Peery says Malik Dime, a 6-10, 220-pounder who played last year at New Hope Christian Academy in North Carolina, will help to provide an inside presence on both ends of the floor.

“Malik will be a great addition to our team,” Peery said. “He is big and long, runs the floor very well and is a good shot blocker, too. I love his athleticism and activity around the basket; he can get on the rim easily and finish.”

Peery compares Dime to former Warrior D.J. Bennett, who redshirted last year at the University of Oklahoma after playing two years at Indian Hills.

Dime averaged 11.7 points a game for New Hope Christian last year. He played high school basketball in Columbus, Ohio, before going the prep school route.

The future Warrior is expected to arrive on the IHCC campus later this month after practicing with the Senegalese national team in Michigan.
