The Indian Hills Community College men's basketball team, currently ranked No. 3 nationally, may not be in this year's postseason.
The National Junior College Athletic Association has placed the team on probation and hit it with a postseason ban for this year, according to the Burlington Hawkeye. This comes after a brawl after last Saturday's game against Southeastern. The brawl led to multiple suspensions for both teams and assault charges against an Indian Hills player.
Here's the statement from the NJCAA:
"The NJCAA has ruled on a violation of its organization’s bylaws by Indian Hills Community College. As a result, the NJCAA has placed its men’s basketball team on probation, which also results in a postseason ban this year. Indian Hills Community College is currently exercising their right of appeal as per NJCAA bylaws. The NJCAA will have no further comment regarding this case. Indian Hills and the officials of Region 11 and the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference are free to disclose any information they feel necessary."
