PLEASANTVILLE — Despite dropping its first game of the season, the Chariton volleyball team kept its perfect match record intact on Thursday. The Chargers shook off a game-two loss at Pleasantville, splitting the first two games 25-21 and 23-25 with the Trojans before taking the win with 25-13 and 29-27 wins in the final two games of the match.
Senior Emma Fuhs led Chariton with 14 kills on 32-39 swings at the net and three blocks. Fellow Charger senior Kourtney Nichols joined teammate Alexis Curran with a team-best 13 digs while also pacing Chariton with a 16-17 serving effort.
The Chargers (3-0) return to the court this weekend, playing in the Clarke Tournament in Osceola. Chariton opens today with Des Moines Lincoln.
