Balanced scoring attack keys EBF victory

EDDYVILLE — The Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont girls team trampled Twin Cedars 74-48 Monday.

EBF’s Emma Tanner and Alexander keyed the Rocket offense, as each girl served out four assists. Alexander also spearheaded the Rockets defensively with eight steals.

“They started to gell a little bit, find each other. ...,” EBF coach Tony Fenton said. “And that’s what you get, a night like this.”

Brittney Roby led Twin Cedars with 17 points and Alee Hugen added 16.

The Sabers fell behind EBF 15-6 by end of the first quarter, but they bounced back in the second and only trailed 33-27 at the half. Twin Cedars, however, failed to carry the momentum into the the second half, as the Rockets outscored the Sabers 17-5 in the second quarter.
