AREA GIRLS BASKETBALL ACTION: E-B-F’s Jensen posts triple-double in win

MOULTON — Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont’s Makenzie Jensen posted a rare triple-double Saturday, scoring 17 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and coming up with 10 steals as the E-B-F girls basketball team took a 61-49 non-conference win over Moulton-Udell.

M-U’s Natalie Potter had a big night of her own in defeat, leading all scorers with 23 points and breaking the 1000-point barrier for her Eagle basketball career. Potter also had six steals in the contest.

Tasha Alexander and Shunyl Busch each scored 13 points for the Rockets, while Jarrah Jensen has 12 rebounds and five assists. Alexander came up with nine steals for E-B-F.

M-U’s Toni Clark also had a double-double, with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (4-14), who will host Schuyler County on Tuesday. E-B-F (13-7) will travel to Colfax-Mingo today.

Comets bounce back with win

WEST BURLINGTON — Lindsay Moore scored 23 points as the Cardinal girls basketball team bounced back from a Friday night loss to Wapello with a 66-50 Southeast Iowa SuperConference victory over West Burlington on Saturday.

Two other Comets reached double figures with Moore, as Jessie McElderry scored 13 points and Delaney Ridgeway posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Moore also dished six assists.

On Friday against Wapello, Moore led the the Comets with 28 points in a 59-36 loss. Cardinal is now 8-12 on the season. The Comets will play at Davis County tonight.
