Osky girls claim second in LHC

NORWALK — The Oskaloosa girls basketball team earned second place in the Little Hawkeye Conference with a 46-39 victory over Norwalk in action Friday.

Kena Veldhuizen scored 24 points while Taylor Crawford scored 13 and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Indians closed the season with an 18-4 overall record, 9-3 in the LHC. Pella Christian won the league title outright with a 10-2 record, while Norwalk dropped to third at 8-4 with the loss.

Oskaloosa set a school record for wins this season, with 18. The Indians will open Class 4A regional play on Saturday, Feb. 16 when they host the winner between Mount Pleasant and Fairfield.
