Ottumwa Bowling on Tap

Ottumwa bowling girls/boys compete against Des Moines Lincoln and Indianola

Time and Place: 3:45 p.m. at Bowlerama Lanes in Des Moines

Records: The girls are 4-0.

Bailey Palmer continues to shine: Palmer led Ottumwa by rolling a 196 average before she added a 201 in the baker rotation in the Bulldogs win over Des Moines Roosevelt last Monday.

Kourtney Longaker steps up: Longaker led the Bulldogs with 210 baker score after she rolled a 362 average in Ottumwa's dual victory over the Roughriders.

Coach Doug Techel says: “Unfortunately, because of Christmas break, we kind of have to start over again when January rolls around. Right now, it’s good to keep working and keep our heads on straight. We just have to let them go where they go."

Joey Lee shepherds Bulldogs: Lee has rolled the boys' team's top average in Ottumwa's first three events. Additionally, Lee has finished one pin better than a teammate in the last two meets.

Avenging last year's defeats: Des Moines Lincoln edged the boys 3,229-3,113 in Ottumwa's home opener last season. The Bulldogs also were topped by the Railsplitters at the Metro 7 Conference Championship at Champion Bowl later in the season.

Coach Brett Salter says: "Bowl-A-Rama will be a test for us. We haven't been on the road yet. It's just going to be wait and see, but I would expect much lower scores up there."
