After Friday's storm, residents are now able to place tree debris out out on the curbside for weekly yard waste collection.
Leafy debris and sticks may be disposed of in any compostable bag with the green yard waste tag available at most grocery stores. Brush and tree limbs may be under three inches in diameter, cut into lengths of no more than three feet and tied into bundles of no more than fifty pounds. Large amounts of debris or disposal of entire trees is not permitted.
Yard waste must be placed at the curb by 4 a.m. on the collection day. Curbside waste collection is on the south of the Des Moines River on Tuesdays and collection on the north of the river on Thursdays. The landfill is open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
