County Supervisors thought about changing how Governance 28E needs to function. The Board of Supervisors meeting takes place every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. (unless noted otherwise) on the third floor of the courthouse. Meetings are open to the public.

OTTUMWA — Wapello County is now offering active military members and retired veterans free passport photos.

Wapello County Recorder Lisa Kent came with the idea and received monetary support from county supervisors. “We don’t honor them too much sometimes,” she said. “This is our way of personally thanking them.”

Veterans can also get a copy of their DD 214 form free of charge.

“It’s a good idea in case they have a situation where they can’t get a copy,” she said. “They can come in or they can also see Terry Bradley to get help.”

Kent asks that veterans in need of a passport photo should call the Recorder’s office at 641-683-0046 to make an appointment.
