OTTUMWA — An Ottumwa man faces charges after police said they found seven pounds of “high-grade marijuana, scales, packaging material, a large amount of United States Currency and two firearms” during a search.
Alex Nelson, 28, 17904 Blackhawk Road, faces charges of conspiracy to deliver less than 50 kilograms of marijuana and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, both Class D felonies. According to the criminal complaint, Nelson allowed the package of marijuana to be shipped to his house. He was then to deliver the package to another person.
The complaint mentions search warrants executed at two locations, as well as a co-defendant, but does not name that individual.
Nelson was released after posting a $10,000 surety bond.
