OTTUMWA — A shooting in Agency late Monday has landed one man in jail on charges of attempted murder.
The Wapello County Sheriff’s Department said it received a 911 call at 9:46 p.m. Monday in which the caller said a man had been shot and was driving to the hospital. The caller said the shooter might still be in the 8900 block of Fox Hills Road in Agency, where the shooting took place.
The victim, David Nordyke, Jr., was found at Jefferson County Hospital and later airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Authorities accuse David Nordyke III, 36, Agency, of having fired the gun. He is charged with attempted murder and held in the Wapello County Jail.
