The Wapello County 4-H Expo runs next week, and things kick off Sunday night with the royalty pageant at 7 p.m. at the expo grounds, 13011 120th Ave. Candidates are competing across four age groups. Here is a look at the candidates:

King and Queen candidates

Kacey Beinhart.jpg

• Kacey Beinhart is the daughter of Annie and Lindsey Beinhart. She attends Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School. She is involved with painting murals, crewing for musicals, FCCLA (Family, Community, Career, Leaders of America) and 4-H. Her hobbies include painting, drawing, reading, writing and working with animals.

• Macy Duff is the daughter of Cliff and Lisa Duff. She attends Ottumwa High School. She is involved in Best Buddies, band, 4-H, swim team, cheer, basketball, prom committee, Shark Club (synchronized swimming) and tennis. Her hobbies are her animals, being with her family, and working with children. She is also the president of the Lucky Clovers 4-H Club.

• Kaitlyn Emery is the daughter of Jeff and Cindy Emery. She attends Pekin High School in Packwood. She is involved in National Honor Society, band, choir, jazz band, dance team, FFA, Legacy Youth Committee, 4-H Hotshots Club, County Council and cheer. Her hobbies include working with animals, hanging out with friends, helping the community, volunteering with 4-H and the haunted house.

• Sage Goodwin is the daughter of Chris and Johanna Goodwin. She attends Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School. She is involved with 4-H, FFA, livestock judging, horse judging, volleyball and track. Her hobbies include agricultural-based things like livestock judging, horticulture and showing cattle.

• Wyatt Barwick is the son of Charles and Julie Barwick. He is homeschooled. He is involved with homeschool assistance program book club, Ottumwa Gamer of the Year, and assisted in setting up the Ottumwa Video Game Capital of the World Museum. His hobbies include collecting vinyl, cassette tapes, CDs, eight track and reel-to-reel music, collecting video game memorabilia, and volunteering at the Ottumwa Old School Pinball and Arcade.

• Braydon Songer is the son of Jeremy and Emily Songer. He attends Ottumwa High School. He is involved in band, jazz band, show band, preludes (choir), meistersingers (audition choir), high school bowling team, assisting with Clover Kids After School Program, and the Ottumwa Municipal Band. His hobbies include training for his private hot air balloon pilot's license, gardening and the weather.

Prince and Princess candidates

• McKenna Baskett is the daughter of Steve and Kristi Baskett. She is homeschooled. She is involved in Davis County Marching Band, Ottumwa Community Youth Group, Modern Women, vice president of City Slickers 4-H Club, Ottumwa Community Children’s Playhouse (OCCP), piano lessons, honor band, art council and some self-taught musical instruments. Her hobbies include playing instruments, archery, drawing, drama, bowling, sports, camping, fishing, hunting, 4-H, singing, languages, volunteering, swimming and photography.

• Mackenzie Clubb is the daughter of James and Joan Clubb. She attends Evans Middle School in Ottumwa. She is involved in Cornhuskers 4-H Club and Girl Scout Troop 205. Her hobbies include reading, playing with her cats, crafts, attending stock car races to watch her best friend's dad, Dustin, race.

• Madison Duncan is the daughter of Chris Duncan. She attends Ottumwa High School. She is involved in Pride of Ottumwa Band, cheer, softball, 4-H, and OCC. Her hobbies include planting and taking pictures.

• Makenzie Fischer is the daughter of Yolanda and Anthony Fischer. She attends Ottumwa High School. She is involved in Shark Club, volleyball, basketball, track, golf, band, choir, cheer, Silver Cord, bowling, archery, color guard, gymnastics, competition cheer, and American-Heritage girls. Her hobbies include art, swimming and gymnastics.

She is involved in archery, 4-H, horse and animal livestock judging teams, Vacation Bible School, county council, Eddyville Library Reading program and Agri Power FFA. Her hobbies include spending time with family, friends and animals.

Adriana is involved with Heartland Humane Society, Clover Kids, competition cheer, competition tumble and trampoline. Her hobbies include painting, dancing, singing, cheer, playing with dogs, making bracelets out of rubber bands and crafting in 4-H.

• Scotlyn Johnson is the daughter of Scott and Bryanna Johnson. She attends Seaton Catholic School in Ottumwa. Scotlyn is involved with 4-H, Taekwondo (blue belt), dance, cheer and gymnastics. Her hobbies include going to school, reading books, dancing, playing piano, playing outside with her parents, watching movies, swimming and scootering.

• Lydia Witt is the daughter of Clint and Nikki Witt. She attends Horace Mann Elementary School in Ottumwa. She is involved in Ottumwa Community Children’s Playhouse (OCCP), Barracuda Swim Club, Horace Mann Clover Kids After School Program, Pleasant U& I Sodbusters 4-H club, Edge Softball, Premier Dance and soccer. Her hobbies are sports, reading and dance. She also enjoys showing her animals at 4-H and boating with her family.

• Carter Cruzen is the son of Adam and Amy Cruzen. He attends Douma Elementary School in Ottumwa. He is involved in Ottumwa Alpha Dogs Wrestling, football, Ottumwa American Little League and OCC Awanas. His hobbies include fishing, camping and riding his dirt bike.
