I want to take this opportunity to thank the Ottumwa community for their incredible support during our Ottumwa “Most Wanted” Lock-Up, to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

The event, held on March 16, pledged an all-time high of $26,000.00! Special thanks to our Lock-Up participants who dedicated their time and effort to raising funds for MDA’s local patient services program, as well as their generous contributions.

A large part of the success of the event is due to various local businesses and community leaders that sponsored and supported the event. I would like to extend a special thanks to the Vaughn Automotive which hosted the event and Applebee’s for providing the food throughout the day, US Cellular for donating phones and air time, and Fareway for providing refreshments.

It’s been proven to me time and times again that the Ottumwa community cares enough to make a difference. The dollars raised from the event translate into direct local patient services that benefit families who live right here in our local community. Support groups, our MDA clinic at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, MDA summer camps, assistance with wheelchair purchases … these are just some of the services MDA can provide because of your support and generosity.

Thank you for making a difference in the fight against neuromuscular disease.
