CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) -- Roman Quinn had two hits and scored two runs as the Clearwater Threshers defeated the St. Lucie Mets 7-2 on Wednesday.

Clearwater started the scoring in the first inning. After hitting a double, Quinn scored on a single by Alec Bohm.

Trailing 4-1, the Mets cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Carlos Cortes hit a solo home run.

Clearwater right-hander Julian Garcia (5-4) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on three hits over six innings. Opposing starter Dedniel Nunez (0-2) took the loss in the Florida State League game after a rough outing in which he allowed four runs and eight hits over three innings.
