DES MOINES — The Ottumwa Bulldog tennis team brought their dual record to 2-2 overall Tuesday with a 10-1 victory over CIML Metro rival Des Moines North.

The Bulldogs were led by Kyle Nicholson, who shut down Mike Rundle in singles competition 8-3. Nicholson went on the team up with Jack O’Brien to earn a win in doubles competition as well.

“I look at our meet with North as a time to move people around and see how they play together,” said Ottumwa coach Alan Paris.

In doubles the Bulldogs had mixed and matched different teams together, and was still able to win all but one match. The only match the Bulldogs were downed in was the team of Jacob Gardner and Sam Patel. The team was downed 8-5.

One of the experimental doubles team was Seth White and Jacob Gardner. The team was able to pull away with an 8-6 victory.

The Bulldogs will be back in action Thursday  when they travel to Johnston.
