Yahnke hits 1,000 career kills

OTTUMWA — Davis County senior Bailea Yahnke joined Knoxville junior Katie Keitges as unanimous first-team selections to the 2018 All-South Central Conference volleyball team. Fairfield senior Danae Drish also earned top honors from the Southeast Conference, being named co-player of the year along with Fort Madison's Josie Pumphrey after leading the Trojans to a 31-win season.

Drish was joined on the All-Southeast Conference volleyball first team by Fairfield teammates Kara Jeffrey and Alison Godwin. Julia Fritz, Lily Hoskins and Jillian Dunlap earned second-team all-conference honors for the Trojans while Bryanna Popejoy earned honorable mention.

On the SCC team, Yahnke was joined on the first-team by Mustang senior teammate Shelby Motykowski along with Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont junior Grace Roberts and Albia junior Abbey Griffin. Davis County junior Kaden Porter joined Albia junior Alex Beard as well as EBF teammates Emalee Davis and Taylor Caves on the all-SCC second team.

All-SCC honorable mention honors went to Davis County teammates Hannah Schooley and Brett Lough, EBF teammates Brooke Shafer, Shelby Seddon and Ellie Breon as well as Albia teammates Ellie Spurign, Maddy Persons and Abbie Martin.
